September 1, 2020

Dear Students, Staff, and Families,

It is a pleasure to be able to share books with you during the 2020 - 2021 school year.  Now more than ever we need stories to connect us and provide us with different perspectives.  We crave information as we attempt to make sense of a world that doesn't necessarily make a lot of sense to us right now.

I am making it my mission to ensure you have access to as many opportunities as possible. But I will need your help in making that happen. This school year please add "public library card" to your back to school essential items list. I ask that you make securing and knowing how to log into your public library card account a priority. You can go into the public library to secure a card or apply for a card online here. With a public library card you will have access to OverDrive, Hoopla Digital, Kanopy, and all of the amazing databases at AskRI.org (if your IP address is not instantly recognized as showing your RI resident status). I will try to provide links to all of the places you can find featured titles in digital form.

I realize that the first post of the school year is coming out two weeks early. But there are just too many books to share with you, and I simply cannot wait any longer!

Wishing you all a healthy and happy school year,
Mrs. Roy
