Students are invited to join me in the Library Media Center on Monday, January 27 at 8:10am to watch the ALA Youth Media Awards live streamed from the ALA Midwinter conference in Philadelphia.
If you love the Spy School series, you will enjoy another mystery series by Stuart Gibbs.
This is the week of the Scholastic Book Fair! Here is a link to the Scholastic Book Fair online flyer.
This graphic novel series is not new but it is new to our library. At the beginning of the school year many students were requesting it from other libraries so I thought we should have copies in our library.
Remember last year I told you there were two books on this list that have my heart? Well, those of you who knew me from Hampden Meadows know this book was my obsession. I was hoping it would get a Newbery sticker. However, it won a Schneider Family Book Award (the second one for talented author Leslie Connor).
Rick Riordan Presents is a division of the Disney-Hyperion Publishing family with a goal "to publish great middle grade authors from underrepresented cultures and backgrounds, to let them tell their own stories inspired by the mythology and folklore of their heritage." Yes please and thank you!
Next week is the BMS Scholastic Book Fair! It will take place from January 13 - January 17th. Here is a link to the Scholastic Book Fair online flyer.
Parents, please read this message from the BMS Book Fair Team who need help making this a success.
We now have the entire Moon Base Alpha series in the BMS Library. For those students who love the Spy School series, this is another series by Stuart Gibbs you may enjoy.
Psst...I am going to let you in on a secret. If I was a middle school student, I would have a difficult time voting this year because this week's title and next week's title both have my heart. A novel in verse based on true historical events with a genius researcher and author in Susan Hood. EVERY person I have handed this book to has come back to say they loved it.
